Materials:
-
Designs: Easter Bunny Trail Set
-
1/4 yard blue sky fabric
-
1/2 yard green grass fabric
-
1/4 yard green bushes fabric
-
1/4 yard green path fabric
-
1/4 yard white fuzzy fur fabric
-
1/4 yard purple fabric
-
1/4 yard yellow fabric
-
1/8 yard turquoise fabric
-
1 yard of plaid
-
1 pkg Wrights Bright Pink 022 single fold bias tape
-
Download PDF, piece together the first 6 pages at the dotted lines, and use as your guide. Use the last 4 pages as your actual pattern pieces.
-
Cut sky and grass fabrics, stitch together, press seam open.
-
Using Steam to Seam 2, cut pieces large enough to cover all the pattern pieces.
-
Peel one side away and stick to the back of your fabric. Place your pattern on top of your fabric and cut out. After you've cut out all your pieces then peel and press down pieces in this order: path at bottom, path at top, yellow pants, purple jacket, turquoise lapels, walking stick, bushes, bunny head (leave the tip of bunnys ear loose, it should be steamed into place at the very end after the bias tape has been put down), hands & feet
-
Once in place, steam press for a permanent bond.
-
Embroidery Bunnys Face (use a water soluble stabilizer on top of fuzzy fur), Bunnys Egg Basket, Easter Eggs 1, Easter Eggs 2, Daffodils & Tulips, and Carrot Cart, we used a light weight white tear away stabilizer under all of these designs.
-
For finishing raw edges of the bottom part of path, the pants, the walking stick, the jacket and lapels we used an applique stitch.
-
Now trim your banner to 14" x 21".
-
Top stitch to background, cover edges with single fold bias tape.
-
Embroider Happy Easter
-
Stitch front to backing material, at this point add a pocket at the top if you'd like to slip a pole through for hanging, turn inside out, stitch opening closed. See other option below.
-
Make pink bowtie from bias tape, stitch in place
Another Option: Another idea is to wrap the banner around a piece of 1/4" plywood with a bit of batting and staple gun on back side. Attach a wire for hanging from picture hooks. Happy Easter! |
